Nicardipine hydrochloride injection is used for hypertensive emergencies and acute heart failure. The United States Pharmacopeia and the National Formulary (USP-NF 2022 ISSUE 2 *) uses a silica-based amino column to measure the sorbitol content in nicardipine hydrochloride injection. In this application, Asahiak NH2P-50 4E, a polymer-based amino column, was used to analyze sorbitol using the USP monograph as a reference. The result confirmed the feasibility of NH2P-50 4E for the sorbitol analysis.
