Separation of Gingerol and Shogaol (C18M 4D)

Gingerol and shogaol are pungent component contained in ginger. It is known that they have the anti-oxidant, anti-thrombotic and anti-ulcer action. Shogaol hardly exists in fresh ginger. It is secondarily produced from gingerol when ginger is dried or heated. 6-gingerol and 6-shogaol were separated by Silica C18M 4D, a ODS column.
