Ribavirin, a nucleic acid analog type therapeutic agent for hepatitis C, was analyzed by LC/MS/MS using a HILIC mode column HILICpak VC-50 2D. Hydrophilic compounds are retained at a high concentration of acetonitrile under HILIC mode conditions. This is advantageous for high sensitivity analysis by ESI-MS/MS.
