Analysis of Thymosin α1 (KW-802.5)

Thymosin α1 is a biologically active polypeptide isolated from thymus. It is known to have immunomodulatory, antiviral, angiogenic, and wound healing effects, and has been reported to activate tumor-related macrophages. In China, subcutaneous injection of thymosin α1 is suggested to improve immunity which is considered to prevent the aggravation of coronavirus-infected persons.
By using an aqueous SEC (GFC) column, PROTEIN KW-802.5, each component in a sample containing ribonuclease, human insulin, thymosin α1 and somatostatin were separated well and they eluted in descending order of molecular weight.
