A commercially available latex particles were separated by KW405-4F, an aqueous SEC (GFC) column. Sodium dodecyl sulfate was added to the eluent. Latex with an average particle size of 0.055 μm eluted before the latex with an average particle size of 0.03 μm.
Sample : 10 µL
1. 10 fold of latex beads 0.055 μm mean particle size, aqueous suspension (solids 10 %)
2. 2 fold of latex beads, carboxylate-modified polystyrene, 0.03 μm mean particle size, aqueous suspension
Column : Shodex PROTEIN KW405-4F (4.6 mm I.D. x 300 mm) Eluent : 15 mM Sodium dodecyl sulfate + 15 mM Citric acid aq. Flow rate : 0.3 mL/min Detector : RI (small cell volume) Column temp. : 30 °C
