Cleaning Method: Ion Chromatography Columns (Cation Analysis)

Please read the column cleaning method for your column.

For an efficient cleaning, reverse the flow direction.

Method 1: Adsorption of hydrophobic compounds Scroll
Washing solution (Flow rate: 0.5 mL/min) Cleaning time (min)
1 H2O 10
2 4 mM Methanesulfonic acid aq. solution/CH3CN = 70/30 40
3 H2O 10
4 Eluent 40
Method 2: Adsorption of hydrophilic compoundsScroll
Washing solution (Flow rate: 0.5 mL/min) Cleaning time (min)
1 H2O 10
2 20 mM Methanesulfonic acid aq. solution 40
3 H2O 20
4 Eluent 40
(Attention)
Keeping the Washing solution in the column for a long time will lead to column deterioration. Please replace the Washing solution with the eluent immediately after cleaning.

For an efficient cleaning, reverse the flow direction.

Method 1: Adsorption of hydrophobic compounds

Set the flow rate at 0.3 mL/min. Introduce 50 mL of a washing solution prepared of 5-mM aqueous tartaric acid solution/acetonitrile = 50/50. (Cleaning time: 165 minutes)

Method 2: Adsorption of hydrophilic compounds

Set the flow rate at 0.3 mL/min. Introduce 50 mL of 50-mM aqueous tartaric acid solution.  (Cleaning time: 165 minutes)

(Attention)
Keeping the Washing solution in the column for a long time will lead to column deterioration. Please replace the Washing solution with the eluent immediately after cleaning.
