Analysis of Zearalenone (C18M 4E)

Zearalenone is a mycotoxin produced by Fusarium species' mold. Maximum allowance level in cereal is 1 mg/Kg (In Japna, For animal feed). In this example, sample was prepared by adding 500 μg/kg zearalenone to corn. After sample pretreatment, it was analyzed by an ODS column.


Sample : Sample solution of Corn spiked with
Zearalenone at 500 μg/kg, 20 μL

Column       : Shodex Silica C18M 4E (4.6 mm I.D. x 250 mm)
Eluent       : H2O/CH3OH=35/65
Flow rate    : 1.0 mL/min
Detector     : Fluorescence (Ex.278 nm, Em.460 nm)
Column temp. : 40 °C
