The National Ecological Environment Standards of China HJ 1361‑2024* “Determination of Nitric Acid Mist in Exhaust Gas from Stationary Sources by Ion Chromatography” specifies the use of a high‑capacity hydrophilic ion‑exchange column, which is packed with a base material such as polydivinylbenzene, ethylvinylbenzene, or polyvinyl alcohol, modified with quaternary ammonium groups having alkyl chains or alkyl alcohol chains. Using IC SI-90 4E, an anion analysis column, a good linear calibration curve for nitrate and good separation of seven anions were obtained.
In contrast to the official method, sulfate eluted last under the conditions used in this application.
