Analysis of Food Additive Erythritol According to National Standards of China GB 26404‑2011 (SH1011)

The National Standards of China GB 26404‑2011* “National Food Safety Standard – Determination of Food Additive Erythritol” specifies the use of a column packed with an H‑form cation‑exchange resin (sulfonated styrene divinylbenzene copolymer; degree of cross‑linking: 8%; particle size: 9 µm) or a column with equivalent performance. SUGAR SH1011, a column packed with a styrene–divinylbenzene copolymer bonded with sulfonic acid groups, confirmed the requirements were met. In addition, good separation of erythritol, ribose, and glycerol, and good linear calibration curve for erythritol were achieved.

Difference between two replicate measurements under repeatability conditions: ≤ 0.5% of the mean of the two measurements (erythritol content)
Difference between two replicate measurements under repeatability conditions: ≤ 0.01% of the mean of the two measurements (ribose and glycerol contents)
