Asahipak NH2P-50 4E was used to analyze betaine. betaine (trimethylglycine, or (carboxylmethyl)-trimethylammonium) is a dipole ion which bears cationic and anionic charges in its structure, found in sugar beets (beta vulgaris), shrimps and crabs. Betaine is often used as a food additive and a moisturizer in cosmetics.
