IC SI-50 4D, a column for anions analysis, and IC SI-90 4E, its conventional type, were used to compare their performances on rapid analysis of seven general inorganic anions. SI-50 4D is packed with a smaller packing material than SI-90 4E (particle sizes: 5 µm vs 9 µm). As a result, although the column length of SI-50 4D is shorter than that of SI-90 4E (column lengths: 150 mm vs 250 mm), both theoretical plates and resolution are even higher than that of SI-90 4E, enabling a rapid and high-resolution analysis.
