Analysis of Cyclodextrins According to JSFA Method (KS-802)

According to the Quantitative Method for “α-Cyclodextrin,” “β-Cyclodextrin,” and “γ-Cyclodextrin” listed in the 9th Edition of the Japanese Specifications and Standards for Food Additives (JSFA-IX*), the method should be carried out with a column filled with strongly acidic cation-exchange resin. In this application, Cyclodextrins (α-, β-, γ-Cyclodextrin) were analyzed using SUGAR KS-802, a sugar analysis column.  The calibration curves for each cyclodextrin showed high linearity with a coefficient of determination (R2 = 1.000) over the concentration range of 0.35 to 1.4 %.
