Simultaneous Analysis of Lactose, Epilactose, and Lactulose (2) (VG-25 4D)

Lactulose, a sugar forms by heating milk, is primarily effective for chronic constipation. In this application, we conducted HILIC mode simultaneous analysis of six components: lactulose and its isomeric sugars, lactose and epilactose, along with monosaccharides commonly found in food, such as fructose, glucose, and galactose, using a polymer-based amino column HILICpak VG-25 4D. The VG-25 series columns achieve higher resolution than the existing VG-50 series columns by utilizing smaller particle size packing material. A good separation of not only lactose, epilactose, and lactulose, but also monosaccharides was achieved by using the optimized condition mentioned in the application.
